Hello! My name is Christie. I am a Movement and Wellness Specialist with certification as a Second Wind® Pilates Plus® Mat and Reformer Instructor and Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® Practitioner, Can Fit Pro Nutrition and Wellness Specialist, Osteoporosis Canada Bone Fit Trainer, and Madd Dog Athletics Spinning Instructor. I have always been fascinated by the human body and how it functions, so much so that I changed my career in 2009 from working in Environmental Management to inspiring and motivating people to move well and be dynamic.
As founder of Dynamic Body Health & Fitness, one of my goals is to help create a healthy community where everyone is able to move with grace and ease through balanced strength and function so they can be happy, feel great, and enjoy everyday life. I wanted to create a place where people can be inspired through movement to live a healthy and active lifestyle for lifelong good health.
In my experience, both personally and professionally, I have found that people tend to:
• Sit way too much (including me but I am working on changing that)
• Have really poor posture (or more accurately poor alignment) which affects how they move and function (in a not-so-good-way)
• Accept aches or discomfort in their body as just part of life or the process of getting older (which it isn’t and you shouldn’t)
Guess what? Moving your body every day and learning how to move well can help with all of that and so much more! I want to get the word out that mindful movement is one of the best prescriptions out there for what commonly ails us on many levels.
I've seen first-hand how the practice of Pilates, Integrated Movement Therapies (IMT)® and moving with attention and intention every day can positively change a person’s body, mind and spirit. I am continually thrilled and inspired to see my clients discover their full movement potential, becoming empowered to be their own health and wellness advocate, and experiencing a sense of accomplishment by making the choice to live healthy and be well.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have questions about how movement can help you feel fabulous and function better. I look forward to meeting with you soon!
